It was a typical Sunday at the church. My lola reached me, smiled then whispered, "Sinigang na hipon ang ulam." She knows what I like best. And she definitely knows that I will be jumping with joy because of what she had said.
Of course, it was not our usual meal...it costs a lot; doesn't qualify it to be a staple :D
But having such lunch once in a while made that Sunday very special... :D
I tried to cook this several times before, but it never tasted like the one cooked by my lola. Maybe there's a secret or what. And that I have to really know! :D
Why do I like it? I don't know...All I know is its perfect, especially with the kamias. And what made it more perfect is the hot rice I accompanied it with...Ooohhh my God! Despite the hatian (tig 2 piraso lang :D), I was still able to enjoy this dish to its highest level! And its funny coz my tita's laughing at me whenever I take a bite or have a sip of the soup. Coz the "ang sarap, sobra!" phrase is coming out of my mouth endlessly. But I don't care at all. All I know is that I'm enjoying my favorite dish that I haven't had for awhile. And no one can stop me from doing my thing! :D

I can state a lot of dishes that I really like, and right now I'm continuously trying to orient my tongue with the tastes of different foods. Take me to the different restaurants or foodies destinations for me to try more stuffs, but Sinigang na hipon will always be "home" for me. This will always and forever be on my list.
Ooohhh...Can't wait for the next Sunday!
